You vs. Your Phone - You’re The Boss
Share
In this day and age, one of the biggest battles we face is that with our phones. What once was just a cellphone that can also text, has become a full on computer with a camera and access to unlimited information anytime, anywhere. That’s a lot to take in and a lot of opportunity! There are some big pros to this, but when misused, perhaps some even bigger cons.

For those 35 and up, we knew life before smart phones. We had no phones as kids and some of us even had pagers as teenagers. That’s right, pagers 📟. We would get a page to get our butts home or go to the nearest landline and call our parents and friends. We were constantly living in the present moment and using our intuition because that’s all we had. Life was good and simple.
Fast forward to today, life is good and it can be simple but it requires much, much more discipline and self-control. A smart phone is like anything else, too much and it can create severe addictions and imbalances. And most importantly it can take you away from you.
A smart phone is portable, wireless and fits in your pocket. It can go with you anywhere. From here, it’s up to us to know when to use it and when to use our own intuition. The phone way can be easier, more efficient and comforting, even a form of escape. But is easier and comfort always better? In some cases yes, like not having to print out Map Quest pages, but in many cases it’s not.

We have all been born with senses, intuition, a brain that loves to learn and a soul. This is our default computer within, or at least it should be. We get incredible insights from using our natural senses that no computer or AI could ever replicate. But with all of the noise of the world, phones and the internet, tapping in to your senses can be more of a challenge now than ever before.
How to win the battle.
It all requires discipline, self-control and fully trusting in yourself, what’s inside of you that’s just waiting to be called on and listened to. And yes with all the mistakes we make in life, it can be a challenge to trust your intuition. But with mistakes comes growth and an even better relationship with your internal compass as time goes on.
In daily life, this can mean setting strict boundaries with your phone. Such as no phone time in the morning for the first 2 hours so you can connect with yourself. Take a Morning Jumpstart shower, spend time in nature and tend to your needs before everyone else’s. As well as no phone time before bed. So you can let go of the day, take an Evening Wind Down shower and prepare for sleep. I’m telling you, doing this everyday is a game changer! And can lead to better focus, less stress, more peace and better sleep.

At the end of the day, who is most important? Your phone? The internet? Views and likes? Nope! You are! You put your oxygen mask on first by taking time to connect with yourself everyday. When you do this, you will be much more equipped to achieve your goals, provide, protect and help others in your work and mission in life.
Tell your phone who's the boss. For the win, let's go!
